"Taipei Historical Maps" is an innovative application that offers users a fascinating glimpse into the historical transformation of Taipei from 1895 to 1974. By integrating archived maps and photographs with modern technology through Google Maps and Street View, the app presents a unique opportunity for exploration.

The Center for Geographic Information Systems (GIS) at Academia Sinica's Research Center for Humanities and Social Sciences has curated ten distinct street maps reflecting various time periods. These maps focus on areas within the city walls, including Mengjia (Bangka), which is now part of the Wanhua District, and Dadaocheng. Additionally, the app is enriched by a collection of 131 historical photographs sourced from the Institute of Taiwan History at Academia Sinica, the National Diet Library of Japan, and Sunnygate Phototimes.
